Single-phase immersion cooling is planned for Walenstadt. Compared with conventional air cooling – depending on site, baseline system and design – single-phase immersion cooling can reduce the energy required for cooling by up to around 90% and total power consumption by up to around 30%. Manufacturer and case studies also report up to 30% longer hardware life. These are industry benchmarks, not values already measured or guaranteed for the BE BRAVE infrastructure. For Walenstadt, BE BRAVE publicly communicates the expansion in progress, 5 MW of planned connected load and the target value PUE 1.08.
