Planned colocation options
The following offer categories are planned for the expansion. Availability, pricing and technical detail will be published once the project phase concludes.

Planned immersion-cooling pods
Pods for directly liquid-cooled IT systems are planned: servers are immersed in a non-conductive coolant so high power densities can run in a small footprint. The design and supplier are not yet fixed.

Planned private suites
Physically separated, individually planned customer areas are envisaged, with their own access regime, scalable power supply and dedicated network paths.

Planned full racks
Dedicated, lockable racks for server, storage, network and backup systems are envisaged, with redundant power supply and flexible connectivity.
Visualisation — Walenstadt project. Expansion in progress; 5 MW planned.
Planned for availability, efficiency and scale
The following describes the planned technical architecture of the expansion. It is the current project state, not confirmation of an existing operation.

Power supply (planned)
- Planned connected load of 5 MW for the expansion
- A/B supply for redundant customer feeds planned
- Modular UPS systems planned
- Standby power with a diesel reserve of up to 120 hours planned

Cooling (planned)
- Single-phase immersion cooling planned as the cooling concept
- Energy-efficiency target: PUE 1.08
- Redundant heat-rejection and supply systems planned
- Up to 90% less cooling energy is an industry benchmark for immersion cooling, not a measured BE BRAVE site value

Colocation operations (planned)
- Full racks, immersion-cooling pods and private suites planned as offer categories
- Flexible power and bandwidth models planned
- Scalable expansion without changing site planned
- Availability, pricing and dates will be published once the project concludes

Operations & security (planned)
- Design to Tier III requirements is planned; no Tier certification is claimed
- Controlled physical access and continuous monitoring planned
- Documented operating, maintenance and escalation processes planned
- BE BRAVE’s information security management system is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022

Research review on immersion cooling: PUE of around 1.02–1.04 and 10–50% less total energy than air cooling; a large production single-phase deployment with 36% less total energy and a PUE of 1.07 (industry benchmark, not a measured value for the Walenstadt site) arxiv.org
Intel: immersion cooling with PUE values down to 1.03; cooling and power supply account for around 39% of consumption in conventional data centres intel.com
Shell: up to 48% lower energy footprint in its own liquid/immersion cooling benchmarks; results depend on the specific site design shell.com
Submer: mPUE of 1.02, up to 95% lower cooling costs, around 50% less total power consumption and around 30% longer hardware life (manufacturer figures) submer.com
Connectivity
Carrier-neutral connectivity is planned. Specific carriers and routes will be published after contractual and technical confirmation.
